The Universe behind the series
STARDUST AND ASHES
The STARDUST AND ASHES series are stories set in the same galaxy, but standalone in that you do not need to read all of them in order. However, together they weave an epic story of the Nacaen people’s struggle to survive in wild space on the outer arm of the Euphrates Spiral Galaxy, often through the eyes of outsiders and underdogs.
FORTUNATE SON is a new epic tale of a fledgling united kingdom, facing threats of enemies from other star systems, and three people who will shape the future of the Nacaen people at the edge of the galaxy.
NACAEN GROUP: Worlds and Nations

When the Nacaen people arrived on twelve generation ships after the collapse of the Red Nebula, there were small settlements of people, called Originals, who lived in the system. The people of the ships formed nations, and these nations, along with the Originals, became the united kingdom of the Nacaens by the time of FORTUNATE SON.
